Airport location / directions to Boulder

Boulder is served by Denver International Airport, approximately 45 miles (72 km) away. There are a number of good, inexpensive ground transportation options to Boulder.  A car is not strictly necessary!

  • Bus: RTD AB. The cheapest and typically easiest method of travel! Cost is $9 (exact change, on board). Includes stops at Euclid and Broadway (in front of the UMC), and Downtown Boulder.
  • Shared shuttle: Green Ride (a $3 discount per one-way trip.  Credit card information to confirm is required.) Runs until 12:40 am each night.
  • Shared shuttle: Super Shuttle (last trip at 11pm)
  • Uber, Lyft, taxi rides: typically $70-$100 each way

There is plenty of public transportation within Boulder.

  • Bus: RTD has many routes that serve various parts of the city.  Numerous routes serve the UMC, including the 204209225ABDASHFF1FF2FF5GS, HOPJSKIP, and STMP.  (The SKIP goes directly from the preferred hotel, the Holiday Inn Express.) Cost is $2.60 each way for local travel, or 10-ride packs are available for $23.50.
  • Taxi, Uber/Lyft: Typically $8-$25 depending on distance.
  • Bikeshare: Boulder B-Cycle offers unlimited bike trips, up to 30 minutes each, for $3 per trip, $8 per 24 hours, or just $11 for an entire month (would cover the whole week of the workshop).

For those choosing a rental car, we are working on arranging a week-long parking pass at the UMC for $16 each (details TBD). Paid hourly/daily parking is also available at the Euclid Garage. Downtown Boulder has metered street parking and hourly garages. Free parking is readily available away from downtown and campus (including the 29th Street Mall and other non-downtown shopping areas and hotels in Boulder).
